"You say goodbye and I say hello"

H=house  E=egg  L=ladder  L=ladder O=olive
I honestly thought that "hello" was spelled with an "-ow" at the end until I was at least 7. I also thought that "Oregon" was pronounced Ore-ah-gone instead of Organ until...well...it's embarrassing. In my defense, my third grade teacher referred to the awesome computer game as Ore-ah-gone Trail. So there.

  1. Hm... I still pronounce it "Or-e-gahn" (like polygon)...

  2. It actually wasn't until I met a bunch of Oregonians(?) that I realized my mistake. Though if the people who live there determine how a place is pronounced then it's not Rhode Island, but some mess like "Row-eye-lin". Er, I don't know anymore.
