Friday's Thank You Notes #12 (7/22/11)

l make a list of serious and silly thank you's (a la Late Night) and post a picture of a handmade thank you card every Friday. I think today's thank you's are better than last week's disaster. Have a happy Friday and a fantastic weekend.

THANK YOU
...person who says, "So...uh....yeah...awkward silence." Um, it was just regular silence until you just said that.

...the acoustic environment of bathrooms, for making me feel like Mariah Carey, if only for a few minutes each day.

...Glico, for creating a computer-generated pop idol. Oh, Japan.

...the US  and Japanese  women's soccer teams, for playing well this past Sunday.

...Angry Birds movie, for...wait what?! A movie?! Are you serious?

...Passive-Aggressive Notes, for being the best notes to give to someone without hurting their feelings completely. "You do _________ and it annoys me so much I want to call the cops on you, but kisses and hugs!!"

...stubbornness, for being...no actually you're WRONG. I'm right. I hate you. You don't deserve a thank you.

...Pandora radio, for letting me discover new bands/artists, but also for being a big distraction because I have to Youtube all of those band's songs.

...nicely designed book covers. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I think we all kind of do.

CTRL+C and CTRL+V #4

"Cut and Paste"
I'm trying to do collage work inspired by photographs, advertisements, themes, and quotes. If based on photos or ads, they won't look identical to the original work (partly mainly because I don't have the skills), but I also kind of want them to be interpretative art pieces instead of just copies.

YEAH PANDAS!

Original photo
munch munch
I wish I could just become a panda and eat all day (preferably something not as bland, but I won't be picky). I promise I won't sneeze loudly in front of them so can I live with them for like a day?

Punching holes.

Thank you, hole puncher!!

I am going to submit this to Cute Card Thursday's Challenge 173: "Going Round in Circles".

There are a bunch of crafting blogs that post weekly challenges with prizes! So, here's my first challenge by Fab 'n' Funky Challenges. The theme is, "Baker's Dozen." All entries have to feature food of some kind.

Gosh, how does Derek Gores create such beautiful pieces of collage art?

"You say goodbye and I say hello"

H=house  E=egg  L=ladder  L=ladder O=olive
I honestly thought that "hello" was spelled with an "-ow" at the end until I was at least 7. I also thought that "Oregon" was pronounced Ore-ah-gone instead of Organ until...well...it's embarrassing. In my defense, my third grade teacher referred to the awesome computer game as Ore-ah-gone Trail. So there.

When I went to San Diego a couple of years ago, I took a picture of two apartment buildings. I really have no idea what it was about these two buildings that made me snap a shot, but I was really drawn to them. Here is my collage!
This is the original photograph.

Friday's Thank You Notes #10 (7/08/11)

l make a list of serious and silly thank you's (a la Late Night) and post a picture of a handmade thank you card every Friday. Have a happy Friday and a fantastic weekend.

THANK YOU
...to all the people who have sent Operation Snail Mail postcards!

...Forever stamps, for allowing me to use you forever. Forever for 42 44 cents? Yes, please.

...How I Met Your Mother, for reminding me that I can use the term "lawyered" anytime I prove a point without being a lawyer.

...creativity. Please come back.

...children's songs. Sometimes, I wonder about you. Like, why would you still want to chase and eat a germ-infested meatball that has rolled all the way out the door? How could a sneeze be that powerful? Or, why would you want to place a sleeping baby on a treetop only to have it fall "cradle and all"?
